Farewell Celebration: Wednesday - all families welcome! 

  1. (Grades 1-5) Play Day is Wednesday. Dressing for varied weather and bringing a water bottle.
  2. On Play Day we are providing Freezies. PARENTS THAT DO NOT WANT THEIR CHILD TO HAVE ONE MUST EMAIL US and can send an alternative treat for their child to enjoy that day.
  3. Thursday is an early dismissal day and school is out at 1:05 NOT 3:35. Families need to make arrangements for the 1:05 dismissal.
INTERESTED IN PLAYING BASKETBALL AT A CAMPE THIS SUMMER - GRADE 5 FEMALES GOING INTO GRADE 6?


Tie Dying Updates!!

The shirts are coming home! Please just wash it normally with similar colors for the first few washed just in case dye comes out. However, we did the rinse at school with the help of some wonderful parent volunteers. Plus, we washed them once in the school washers.

Kids will be receiving their Tie-Dye Shirts on the Farewell day. They will have an option to have all grade 5 peers sign their shirts.











This week we:
Played Mario Carts in Phys. Ed
Played the Food Chain game for Science
Completed many hands on learning activities for math including; building growing patterns and measuring the area and perimeter of the soccer field
Painted some special gifts for the NLS teachers

Important notes:  1. Library starts next week 🩵   2. Terry Fox Run = Next Thursday 🏃 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We focused on Growth Mindset this week.  After watching some videos on Growth mindset, and learning about ways we can practice this in our daily lives, we created skits!  We learned a new word game...Maybe I can teach the family. It's called, "Camping Trip!" Ask me about it.  We are working on using the sound wall to spell big, hard grade 5 words. While working on vocabulary this week, we learned the meaning of the prefix "trans; across or beyond".  REMINDERS  White T-shirts for Tie Dye are due on Monday June 16 Monday June 16: Imagination Day! Wednesday June 18: Tie Dye Day! June 19 – Pizza Fun Lunch – Order at healthyhunger.ca by June 14 This week: We are working on Our Diary Entry in Social Studies - written by a Coureur Des Bois or a Voyageur. We are working on Algebra in Math! In Science we wrapped up our multi- paragraph writing about body systems. and we started exploring matter. We were VERY busy using clay to add to a grade 5 legacy project this week, and busy creating something special for family members..... In Phys. Ed we played some throwing games!

  We explored some nature kits to prepare for our Field Trip next Thursday. We observed castings of skulls, foot prints, scat, and feet.      In Phys. Ed we are doing gymnastics! We practiced travels, balances and partner balances.          We celebrated Cultural Diversity Day on Wednesday. We designed flags, and many students wore their cultural clothing.            This linked well to our Social Studies learning, about how Canada is so diverse now, but how did that come to be?! We are learned about Samuel De Champlain (the father of New France), John Cabot and Jaques Cartier. They claimed land for England and France. This started the European settlers... We are working on Historical Skits about this too!  In Math we are working on Area and Perimeter, and discovering how 2 shapes can share the same area but have different perimeters.  We also focused on finding the measurements of sides when given the ...
