March 20 (evening) and 21 (daytime) – ONLINE Parent/Teacher Conferences - PLEASE BOOK A CONFERENCE IF YOU HAVE NOT BOOKED ONE YET.

Our week:

ELAL: We have been adding to our Barnabus stories. We reviewed story endings, and we tried implementing figurative language into our writing.

We have continued to learn about figurative language. We learned about personification, metaphor and simile. We listened to some music to find examples.

We have continued creating, writing and practicing our TUSC speeches/presentations.

Social: Star Stories - we continued our doodle notes on indigenous star stories. We learned about the Inuit tale of the sun and the moon, and how we get day and night.

Math: Long division - we are wrapping up our work with long division. We focused on interpreting remainders.

Science: We had a chance to view the night sky and astronomical phenomena in an Astrodome!! We got to see how the aurora borealis look, we learned how the phases of the moon happen, and we learned about solar and lunar eclipses.

Art: Digital art - we developed our photography skills. Focusing on perspective, line,  range, and "the thirds" rule, we took pictures of nature outside, and edited them. The pictures are fantastic!
