Writing:
We worked on editing a mini letter, and we continued writing our mini books. We started a new project; Life Maps. We had to brainstorm really important events in our life that we would put onto our map.
We created little comic strips/movie strips based on Out of My Mind. Ask me about the 4 pictures I added to my strip.
Math: We are working on decimal numbers and we practiced expanded form. We worked on changing decimal numbers from word form into standard form.
Social Studies: We partnered up and looked at the Canadian Map but we had to practice using the scale. The scale measures the distance from one place to another.
Phys. Ed: We played a game that Mr. Newton created, it has no name but it is about catching and throwing. Ask me how to play it!
Music: We got to read a book about an indigenous instrument. It is an indigenous drum. We watched a video about Hoop Dancing. We played drums in a circle. We created rhythms with the boom whackers.
Field Study Friday: We went outside to draw nature things. We got to draw little doodles using natural items and magnifying glasses. We are working on creating Nature Journal pages.
Makerspace: We had a task to do based on Out of My Mind. We had to make something that would include Melody too, like a swing for wheelchairs, inclusive playgrounds, or wheelchairs that helped her communicate. There was even a wheelchair spinner! We did a Gallery Walk too!
Quote of the Day: What you do everyday matters more than what you do every once in a while.
Quotes: "ummmmm, I forgot..." Julianna
