A glance at our week:

This week in writing we practiced editing writing for capitals and punctuation. We also introduced another one of our literacy stations; book making! Ask me what my mini book is going to be about.

We continued reading Out of My Mind.

Melody's mom showed some powerful qualities this week. Ask me what she did when she took Melody to the doctor.

This week in math we continued working with large numbers. We used manipulatives to help us expand big numbers, and decimal numbers too!

We continue to practice word form. That one is kind of tricky.

We have done some interesting work with mapping in Social Studies.

Ask me what the equator is.

Ask me what the prime meridian is.

Ask me what the difference is between longitude and latitude.

National Day of Truth and Reconciliation had us quite busy this week. We read and listened to a variety of stories about Orange Shirt Day. We listened to a live reading of a book called If Instead Of a Person.

We also learned about the significance of the Eagle Feather. We contributed to a school-wide display. With our buddy class, we went outside to display ribbons along the fence. The ribbons signify our support for the indigenous people effected by residential schools.

We went to the storm pond this week to check out signs of fall in lieu of the autumnal equinox. Ask me about my sit-spot and what I sketched. What were the signs of fall that I saw...
