This week we explored more about area and perimeter in math. We used post-it notes as measuring tools. First we estimated length and width, and then used the post it notes to measure for accuracy. Some students extended their thinking by then figuring out the measurement in inches.
We have jumped into our unit on Electricity in Science. We are focusing on static electricity vs. current electricity. We completed a little experiment that showed how our bodies are conductors using a special current ball.
We spent this week outdoors for Phys. Ed! Prepare to do this MORE often! We played Guardians of the Castle.
We worked on reading fluency and comprehension this week by reading an essay on Static Electricity, recording our reading on Flip Grid and answering comprehension questions
We have continued reading The City of Ember. Lina and Doon have discovered a secret door!
We had the pleasure of listening to the Junior Band at Nose Creek School today!
At the beginning of the school year we completed a challenge called Shipwreck. This we revisited this, attempting the complete the challenge with only 6 mats. We failed on Thursday....maybe we will succeed next time. We will try again!!!
Our first school dance on Thursday night was a total success. Thank you to everyone who came out! We appreciate you... and you all looked AMAZING
