This week in class:

Badminton has started in Phys. Ed!
The students continue to practice xylophone in Music!

Social Studies: The kids have been working with partners to do a comparative research project on the Inuit, the Haida, and the Huron. The information about the Huron group is all brand new, independent research. The students are focusing on comparing their home/shelters, hunting techniques, and whether or not the groups live in a permanent location or move from camp to camp.

Math:
We started off the week with an interactive math activity. Each student was given a piece of yarn, they had to estimate the length of the yarn in centimeters, then measure it, and figure out how much more yarn they would need to make a length of 100 cm. Without talking, and only observing their classmates yarn length, they had to guess who held the other half that they were looking for!

We have also been working on writing algebraic equations for growing patterns...

We are starting to put this information into charts, so that we can use the information to create a graph and view the trends!

Art:
We have been BUSY creating beautiful gifts for some special women in our lives....can't post photos yet!

Have a WONDERFUL weekend. Enjoy the sunshine, everyone.
