 Welcome Back!!

We had a busy week back, it was so nice to jump back into the routines of learning.

This week the students took time writing letters to me explaining what they did over Spring Break. They followed letter writing formatting, and wrote thoughtfully for 30 minutes. We also focused on acrostic poetry as well. The students used the word "Spring Break" to creatively represent their week.

In Math we continued working on Algebra. We did some review to turn on our math brains after break, and then we focused on matching word problems with algebraic expressions. We also had some fun using toothpicks as manipulatives to explore growing patterns, which we later represent with algebraic expression.

We focused on the difference between chemical changes and physical changes. We had to read and identify a variety of examples.

Phys. Ed was WHACKY! The students worked on teamwork and strategic thinking while reviewing sports that they have already focused on....but the catch was, they used a variety of different objects in place of the regular ball. This changed up the game completely!!

In Health we explored the idea of screen time balance. There are positive ways in which we can use screen time, and less engaging ways to use screen time. We calculated our average screen time use, and identified the hours spent in positive ways vs. negative ways(learning, engaging with friends, mindless scrolling).

For Field Study Friday we embraced the PERFECT packing snow by helping the grade 2 students build igloos!

Say Cheese!!
