WALK AND WHEEL WEEK This week:  We have been continuing research on the circulatory and respiratory systems in Science.  During Social Studies we added to our Timelines of Canada; Voyageurs, Runners of the Woods and the Fur Trade . We performed and listened to the Readers Theatre Skits too.  In Math we created our Dream  House blueprints and found the area and perimeter of the rooms and the whole house!  In Phys. ed Mr. Newton taught us jumps and landings for gymnastics            ...And of course we went on our field trip!  We also started TUSC present...

  We explored some nature kits to prepare for our Field Trip next Thursday. We observed castings of skulls, foot prints, scat, and feet.      In Phys. Ed we are doing gymnastics! We practiced travels, balances and partner balances.          We celebrated Cultural Diversity Day on Wednesday. We designed flags, and many students wore their cultural clothing.            This linked well to our Social Studies learning, about how Canada is so diverse now, but how did that come to be?! We are learned about Samuel De Champlain (the father of New France), John Cabot and Jaques Cartier. They claimed land for England and France. This started the European settlers... We are working on Historical Skits about this too!  In Math we are working on Area and Perimeter, and discovering how 2 shapes can share the same area but have different perimeters.  We also focused on finding the measurements of sides when given the ...
