Important Dates: March 6 – Popcorn Day (orders due by March 1 through healthyhunger.ca ) ***Please note, popcorn will be sent home this week to help with keeping the floors clean during the CUPE strike.*** Our Learning ELAL: We have continued working on our Barnabus Inspired Stories. Our focus this week was Describtive writing/sentences. In reading, we continued to practice the comprehension skill: Inferencing  We read a book called 111 Trees and made inferences throughout the story to better understand the characters' feelings, actions and situation.  We also read a short story called Dog Determination. This is posted on Google Classroom if you wanted to explore it more deeply at home.    MATH: division We are reviewing what division is, and when/why we would use it.  We focused much of our learning time on LONG DIVISION  We also learned some divisibility rules.  SCIENCE: Stop Motion! We are using technology to represent our learning of how the season...

 Important Dates:  No school Thursday, Friday or Monday See everyone back on Tuesday Feb. 18 ....Which is also the 100th day of school.  SPIRIT DAY: 100 th Day of School / Dress Like Your 100 Year Old Future Self February 20 – Edo Fun Lunch Day (Orders due by February 15 through healthyhunger.ca ) Our 100th Day of School Grade 5 Task: This week:  We have been busy creating our moon phase art mobiles in Art/Science.  We were also preparing mini carnival games for the Gr.2's to help us collect Data for Math! We did a trial run with 5D, ask me about some of the games!  We completed our Multiplication unit, too.  Ask me about the "Best Day Ever" writing I completed...and the Warm Fuzzies that I wrote for my peers!
