 Happy Birthday Maclean!  Important Dates: December 3 – SPIRIT DAY: Wear Red or Green Day December 4 - T-Shirts and Hoodies delivered. (These will be sent home with students either on Wednesday or Thursday.) December 5 – Subway Fun Lunch (orders due by November 30 through healthyhunger.ca ) December 10 – SPIRIT DAY: Festive Sock and Hat/Headwear Day Updates this week: Social Studies and Writing: We were busy this week learning about the Great Lakes Region of Canada. We started turning our research into paragraphs. Making paragraphs more captivating by writing interesting hooks and topic sentences was our focus. As we continued reading Out Of My Mind, the students worked on expressing their understanding by summarizing the book...so far. Ask me for a quick summary!  Another strategy to help enhance our comprehension was to write about a connection to a character. We tried making a self-connection to a character, or connecting a character from the novel to another character...

 Friday Nov. 22 "We learned how to make a lot of things, like the regions. We saw the pictures with clouds, water, trees so we tried to make it with Makerspace things." Beyan "We did art about regional maps. There were seven groups and there were all different regions. We used acrylic paint, water colour paint, watercolour crayons and pastels. We had to draw something to tell you about our region." -Nehal "We wrote a letter to a friend or someone in our class. We wrote apologies about what happened this week, it made me feel happy, excited and relief." Dunya "I learned that very cold places can actually get swamps." Maclean.
