This week we: ELAL: we spent time exploring current events by reading kids news on CBC. We read this article about Jupiter's moon, which sparked many questions. We worked through our literacy stations. Our reading comprehension task this week was about Michael Jordan, and we explored acrostic poems too. Math: We continued working on algebra. Listen & draw is a common favourite part of the math class; this week we had questions about Mrs. Docherty's visit to starbucks and Mrs. Brinson's visit to staples. We also worked through our math stations, and introduced a new task card algebra station. Social Studies: We continued to learn about the stories that make up Canadian history. We learned about the vikings that came to Newfoundland, the first Europeans to touch Canadian land. We learned that they did not use the indigenous people as resourceful knowledge, and so they did not succeed in colonizing the land...the winter was too harsh ...
