Please remember to complete and return the 2 forms in your child's purple folder. Thank you :)  There is no school on Monday. I am excited to see everyone on Tuesday morning .    Highlights from our first 2 days:  "I love today because we got to do a challenge" - Nolan Our challenge today was to move ten sit-upons from one goal post to another without touching the grass/ground. Our technique was to make a line and the person in the back handed a sit-upon to the front...like a conveyor belt.  We worked in groups to understand what makes a classroom a safe space, a space for learning and a space where everyone feels welcome. We put our ideas together to come up with classroom expectations.  Ask me about the book, What if Everybody Did That?

OUR FIRST DAY

Our first day was awesome! Our first day of grade 5 was really fast and fun. We got to see our friends again and we got to know new people. We learned a lot of the rules we have to follow and we got to see our new classroom space.  "I was nervous because there are some people who I didn't really know, and it was scary because when you don't know new people it's kind of hard to talk to them...especially when you are an introvert." - Maclean. "I was nervous because we have to be role models for the whole school". Gabriel  "I like this classroom because it is so big!" Wesley. "I felt excited because now we are the leaders of the school!" - Luke

Welcome Back!

We are so excited to be starting the 2024-2025 school year with you! This year, our whole school will be using Blogger to make regular agenda posts. To make it easier for you, you can add the blog right on to the home screen of your phone or iPad by following the directions on the “Adding Blogger to Home Screen” document. We hope this makes the communication between home and school easier and opens great conversations between you and your child. The CBE (Calgary Board of Education) and Mrs. Brinson will be communicating information to you through School Messenger email titled ‘Northern Lights News for ___.” This email will include a link to the  Northern Lights School Website  so messages can be translated into any language. To make sure you receive these email messages, please  SUBSCRIBE  using the email address you gave to the school.
